19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized the Russian player claimed his maiden trophy for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has endured a challenging season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the American major.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and finally separating with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested three-set victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's first trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after March of the previous year.
The win also indicates he has won 21 championships at 21 distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in that event earlier this year.
His counter-punching approach and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had led commentators to question if his ability to perform at the elite level was over.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the final five games to go ahead.
The pair swapped breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his initial tour title, gained dominance to push for a third set.
He rescued 4 early break points in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Suitably, he earned the title with a point at the net area, with his opponent incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
